How it works
As an actor in popular education, committed to social justice and democracy, and as a federation grounded in the fundamental values of democracy, human dignity, and solidarity, it is our duty to mobilise so that the choices on 30 June and 7 July are informed [src]. A centre social disconnected from the societal issues that affect the lives of people in its territory would be unthinkable, as would a centre social that does not support residents in organising community life and living together [src]. The role of a centre social is to act for active citizenship and to ensure that citizens find and take their full place in society [src].
To this end, we offer resource sheets designed to encourage questioning and discussion, as well as tools to facilitate debate [src]. These resources are structured around four axes [src]. The first axis concerns our positioning and role as popular education actors, exploring what we can do and say [src]. The second axis aims to help understand the stakes of these legislative elections, including the dissolution, the role of deputies, and abstentionism, and to explain how to go and vote [src].
The third axis presents testimonies from centres sociaux and European associations that illustrate what the far right in power produces [src]. The fourth axis focuses on deciphering far-right ideas and facilitating debate [src]. To access these resources, you can contact your local federation directly or reach us via the email address campagne.citoyenne@centres-sociaux.fr [src].
When to use it
A campaigner uses this source to access ready-made resource sheets and tools for animating debate around the legislative elections of 30 June and 7 July [src]. The materials help clarify the role of popular education actors, explain voting procedures and the stakes of the elections, and provide concrete examples of far-right governance from European partners [src].
Additionally, the source equips campaigners to decipher far-right ideas and stimulate discussion within their communities [src]. By contacting the federation, a campaigner can obtain these resources to support active citizenship and ensure that residents are informed and engaged in the electoral process [src].
